New York native Lucas Koby Slavin is a clarinetist and saxophonist pushing the boundaries of the bass clarinet. Before beginning his graduate studies at Arizona State University, Koby served as bass and contrabass clarinetist with the venerable Eastman Wind Ensemble, and was a founding member of the award-winning Sequoia Reed Quintet. Koby has been a regular collaborator with OSSIA New Music Ensemble, Empire Film and Media Ensemble, and the Eastman Philharmonia. Guest performances include Chautauqua Music School Festival Orchestra, ISO at Third Street (formerly InterSchool Orchestras of New York), Westchester Symphonic Winds, and indie folk band Einstein’s Dreams. Koby earned his bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music and his PC from the Manhattan School of Music Precollege Division.
