I aim to contribute to the stylistically diverse, intensely creative community of bass clarinetist-composers by composing and arranging music in a variety of distinctly non-classical genres. Chief of which is my unaccompanied electroacoustic solo repertoire, occupying a space between ambient trance music and heavy minimalism. I use circular breathing, amidst a slew of other extended techniques, to compose amplified soundscapes that take place in a state of perpetual motion. My main goal is to perform and develop my electroacoustic solo set as often as possible and at as many venues as possible, in order to network with other experimental musicians and progress towards my secondary goal; to perform in a multitude of bands in a variety of styles. These could include progressive metal, math rock, electronica, drum and bass, deep house, fusion, grunge… I see no limit to the potential genres I wish to inhabit. My tertiary goal is to collaborate across artistic disciplines - I envision my music taking place alongside modern dance performances, visual art installations, performance art pieces, film screenings… I seek to expand my horizons as a performer in every direction.
